The Thorpdale Potato Festival, held in the tiny village of Thorpdale, celebrates the humble spud with an eclectic range of fun activities.

Originally established in the 1970s, the festival returned in 2015 as a biennial event, honouring this versatile and beloved vegetable.

Popular events include the Vin Rowe Spud Challenge, Potato Stack, Hessians on the Field fashion parade, helicopter rides, and live music. Family-friendly activities like jumping castles, animal nursery, and potato races keep revellers amused.

The 2025 festival is on March 9 at the Thorpdale Recreation Reserve. All funds raised support community organisations.
