It’s BACK!
From the hearty dishes of India to Thailand’s fiery coconut-based bowls, there’s no doubt the world loves a good curry. It doesn’t matter which country dishes up your favourite version, you’re sure to find it at Dandenong Market’s Curry Festival on Sunday 4 September.
Heating things right up for Father’s Day, the Market will be paying homage to delicious curry dishes from every corner of the globe. A multicultural line-up of street food traders is set to take your tastebuds on a worldwide curry tour, each putting its own traditional and new-school spins on the beloved dish. Get ready for colourful, comforting curries, laced with spices representing Mauritius, Africa, Vietnam, Asia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, India, Afghanistan and more.
Dished up alongside the spicy, culinary treats will be a jam-packed program of cultural fun, flying the flag for all those countries that love their curry. Join in some Bollywood, Sri Lankan, Bhangra and Sega dancing, or look the part with FREE intricate, contemporary henna art or African hair braiding – or BOTH!
Aspiring chefs are also invited to a MasterChef masterclass hosted by MasterChef Australia’s second runner-up Kishwar Chowdhury, demonstrating her culinary skills by putting traditional and new-school spins on her beloved Bengali dishes.
Arrive hungry – because you’ll certainly leave full!
