I’m really looking forward to working with all of you in my studio this weekend. I think it will be a wonderful day of creativity and skill building!
Please remember to bring an apron or wear clothes that you don’t mind getting colourful. The studio is located on my property at 81 Newgrove Road, Healesville 3777. Please feel free to drive up the driveway. When you reach the carport you can turn right and park anywhere on the grass. It will be a 10am start.
We will begin the class by printing with my pre-cut paper stencils to give you an idea of the screen-printing process. Afterwards I will give you time to design your own stencils, cut them out and print them onto your two linen tea towels.
So that you don’t feel under pressure to come up with a design on the spot, you might like to think about possible design ideas before you arrive. Please don’t worry if you are stuck for ideas or you could use some creative direction. I will have some pre-drawn stencils that you can cut out and use or combine with some of your own ideas. As this is a beginners class, I will guide you through the process of designing for the medium of screen-printing. One last thing; please don’t feel you need to be able to draw to be able to screen-print! It’s the perfect medium for creating impressive visuals with simplistic shapes and cut-outs.
