North Haven, the personal garden of award-winning landscape designer and television host Paddy Milne (The Scape Artist), opens to the public for one weekend. Created over nearly a decade, the Ballarat garden transforms a challenging suburban site into a calm, design-led family sanctuary. 

Purchased in 2016, the block presented a steep slope, overlooking neighbours and freeway noise. Milne embraced these constraints through thoughtful structure, layered planting and spatial design to create privacy and connection to place. A north-facing courtyard anchors the garden, while native planting at the rear softens the surrounding landscape. Steel, stone and brick provide structure throughout.
