The 2022 Woodend Winter Arts Festival will kick off with the popular fireworks display on Friday 10 June. This free community event will include a live performance from the acclaimed vocal ensemble The Melbourne Octet, along with food vans.
Other highlights of the 2022 program include:
– A concert from the Australian Romantic Classic Orchestra performing Schubert’s great Octet
– Award winning documentary film-maker Michael Dillon will present his film “A little bit Mongolian” followed by a throat singing lesson with Dean Frenkel
– A capella performance by Ensemble Gombert
– The Sheila Drummond Memorial lecture featuring Sarah Krasnostein talking about her recent Quarterly Essay article “Not waving, drowning.”
– The Festival’s school incursions program will also go ahead with the Australian Romantic and Classic Orchestra visiting Braemar College.
