Bentwood is a two-acre country garden in Gruyere, lovingly transformed over 20 years from a neglected paddock into a thriving, sustainable landscape. Created by Open Gardens Victoria’s Head of Selectors and her husband, the garden features salvaged materials, native plantings, and whimsical vintage touches. Recent updates include a redesigned front area, winding paths, a potting shed built from reclaimed materials, and a citrus- and salvia-lined path to the chicken coop. Set against views of the Kinglake Ranges, Bentwood’s opening will include works by painter Beth Williams, ceramicist Mel Eliades, and sculptor Pat Flanagan.
