Bunjil Place, one of Australia’s newest cultural venues, is delighted to be the exclusive Victorian venue for the Archibald Prize 2022. The Art Gallery of New South Wales Archibald Prize is the country’s oldest and best-loved portrait award, and one of its most prestigious. Awarded annually for the best portrait painting, it’s a who’s who of Australian culture with subjects often including politicians, celebrities, sporting heroes, authors and artists. This year’s exhibition will include the portraits of all 52 of the Archibald Prize 2022 finalists.

Robert Gordon High Tea

Thursdays through to Sundays until 16 October.

Enhance your visit to the Archibald Prize 2022 with a delightful high tea experience at the Robert Gordon Tea Room. Treat yourself (and your loved ones) to a selection of sweet and savoury treats enjoyed with tea or coffee from the glorious cup of local craft masters Robert Gordon Pottery.

Join a friendly guide for an exhibition highlights tour and delve deeper into the art and artists of the Archibald Prize 2022. Get to know some of the fascinating stories and discover the famous faces in the 2022 finalists. A valid exhibition ticket is required. Please purchase your ticket in advance. Young Archie at Bunjil Place

The Young Archie competition and exhibition celebrates our youngest creatives aged 5-18 years. From over 200 applications from across Victoria, 59 young artists are now showcased in this very special free exhibition to align with the Archibald Prize at Bunjil Place.


Young Archie Making Hub

Daily until 14 October. Free.

Designed as a space for creative types of all ages, the Making Hub invites creative exploration through activities and ideas. Archibald Prize 2022 winner Blak Douglas has created Anatomy of a Cloud, a making activity for all to enjoy while visiting the Archibald Prize.


Art Story and Rhyme Time

Mondays at 11am until 10 October. Bookings essential.

Bring your creativity as we share stories and craft activities in Art Story and Rhyme Time every Monday throughout the Archibald Prize. Children from the age of three can enjoy songs, rhymes and stories inspired by colour, design and famous artists. Complete your art adventure at the Young Archie Making Hub in the Bunjil Place Studio.
